It was a rush, rush day today, my last real day of vacation. I can't count the weekend since I might not be working then anyway.
I had my fingerprints taken today at the UAF police station to apply for my principal certification. I just called for an appointment and they fit me in right away. It's not done with ink anymore- electronic of course. The gal who did it for me told me that teachers have worn off fingerprints. In my opinion, that's because their work is done with fingertips. Most other fingertip jobs don't require fingerprints so the police don't notice it I suspect.
I'm not sure I want to be a principal, but it's rather like insurance. The cushy-est sub jobs are for the principal.
We went to First Friday galleries tonight to snack, meet friends and look at art. I found out that I liked the digitally enhanced photos the best. Maybe I can learn to do that. I really didn't like the representational art I saw on exhibit. It seemed like kids' work, which is only okay from kids.
Short post- I'm tired and getting a cold. Tomorrow I'll be out in the country, so I'll post again on Sunday.

Dear Mother,
I cannot condone your praise for the "digitally enhanced" photos. Although there are exceptions, these types of works are often easy to enjoy, but insincere - much like the silicon enhanced objects of our society.
But I do admire your acceptance of modern technology. I just wish it would have come earlier in my life, in the form of a dishwasher.
Love, Ben
