It's Official

Paul gave his notice today that his last day of work is January 16. We have plane reservations for Chicago and Atlanta to walk the Appalachian Trail starting February 14. We've been reading trail journals already and have enjoyed videos, gear lists and animal stories. Someone who completed the hike this week was #232 to go all 2170 miles from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Mt. Katahdin in Maine.

I've been working like crazy this week- preparing to go to Hoonah and Ft. Yukon and to give presentations at the Fairbanks inservice and for Math in a Cultural Context here in Fairbanks. I also finished writing 100 test items for NWEA, a testing service. Yes, and I've been trying to walk and eat healthier, too. The days are flying by- I'll be changing into winter snow tires soon.

Check out Ben's link on the right. He's in Cambodia for about 10 days. He said that he'd keep up with his blog and his impressions are pretty interesting.
