Visiting the Great Lake State

Union Station was hopping at 7 am and the huevos rancheros and orange juice got me jump-started. When I was settled into the seat on the Amtrak train for the 4.5 hour trip to Ann Arbor, I breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn't crowded. Then, a guy sat down beside me who was hygienically challenged. He was nice enough but the drool started almost immediately when the snoring started. I saw lots of wild turkeys and deer out the window, more than I saw on the AT. The relaxation was welcome and I was dry and warm. The damp guy got off about 20 minutes before me and the empty seat aired out.

It's raining here (in keeping with the rain that has followed me for the last 2 months) but it's warm and the forecast is for sun tomorrow afternoon. I'm looking forward to Michigan's fresh veggies and a visit with my parents.

If you made a personal charity pledge, you can mail in your $$$ for this year. (10 cents per mile x 922 = $92.20). I'll be mailing this year's check to the International Rett Syndrome Association. And doing it again next year.
