Birthday girl and hike

The trail to Angel Rocks was steep and beautiful. Four DKG (Delta Kappa Gamma) gals and a husband hiked the loop with me in the sunshine. We had a pb and j picnic at the party rock at the top. My legs held out well and I wasn't even breathless, although I tired out more quickly than on the AT. I got a clean bill of health from the blood tests for fatigue and inflammation, but the Lipitor is residual, so it is still working its way out. The difficulty level of the Angel Rocks trail was similar to most of the AT though, but, it stopped after 3.5 miles instead of continuing another 2000 miles.

Princess Amy turned 4 on Sunday. Happy Birthday, you perky girl!

We made our reservations and we're leaving on Wednesday night, June 10 to get back on the Appalachian Trail. By 8:00 pm the next night, we'll be in the Shenandoahs setting up our tent if all goes well. Right now we are making all the arrangements for our house here and our hike.
Read my trail journal (see map link) if you want more details.

15 Santas and their wives were at the Santa Claus House yesterday taking early orders and encouraging kids to be good. My buddy Sue was there serving cake and taking pictures. There's always something going on around here for kids. It's a kid friendly town for sure.
