Autumn Equinox

The Retired Teachers Booksale really rocked- lots of books and people just paid what they wanted. I found a few for myself, but really used restraint. Any unsold books went to Forget-Me-Not, the Literacy Council bookstore. I decided to join the group whose motto seems to be "hakuna matata".

We put the roof over the apartment door canopy until the light dwindled and we were 6 feet short of shingles. It was good family time- Ben and Paul and I. Dinner was great at Lemon Grass and we slept soundly.
Don't worry- I was working. I cut and handed up the shingles.

The trees were on fire today- wonderful yellows and reds. We walked out to the land and cleared brush. Ben and I heard something big in the woods, but it refused to show itself- Bigfoot perhaps? The picnic tasted great and we moved lots of heavy, awkward logs to appease the Taskmaster.
The house site hasn't changed much this year.

Dinner tonight was salmon on the barbecue, the last corn of the season imported from "South" and a wonderful Clean the Refrigerator salad. I picked the last of the rhubarb and put it in a pie shell to bake and remembered that the oven didn't work. (Note to self: call a repair person tomorrow). So I ended up microwaving it (9 minutes on high). Unfortunately, with all the distractions, I forgot to put in the sugar. Whoops! Not so great.
