The Audacity

Imagine waking up to the news that Barack Obama won the Nobel Prize. Oh, wait, we did. I think it was the sense of hopefulness that was rampant after his election that drove the Board to their decision. Even though not much has changed towards peace, just electing someone willing to talk to anyone who is interested is a step forward. Even electing someone who represents the world, as opposed to Western culture, is a bold move towards internationalism. If you go to the Nobel page, be sure to try the games. They are very fun.

It was a great day for a bike ride. Unfortunately, the route to Lowe's had lots of uphills. I made it though and we managed to spend more money on building materials. I've also been inspired to continue working on my sewing projects.

Tonight, hot dogs on a stick over our patio fire. Good weather continues.

Eating out, Alaskan style.

We walked home from downtown tonight....4-5 miles. It was cool and dark and very fun. The Bingo hall(s) were packed, as was the Big-I (see Into the Wild). There were lots of people out walking and enjoying the balmy 40 degree temps and clear skies, at least for a few more days.

Walking through downtown on my way home.
