Fun to Go, Fun to come back home.

Not much action today, but I spent a few fun hours with Ben, who is leaving on Tuesday. The hockey season starts tonight with an exhibition game with Southern Alberta and I gave Ben my ticket. (UAF Nanooks won) That's fine- I cleaned the kitchen and downloaded some pics to Facebook. (email or comment to me if you want access to those 16 pictures of Lower Yukon).

The sweet pain of flying away is alleviated by the constant adventure of meeting new people and negotiating a new community. And, sinking into your own bed, whether after hiking 1100 miles or a few days of sleeping on a kindergarten floor, feels mighty good.

Cinnamon rolls and latte, a small meet/greet/eat/beat feet party for Ben, and then a reading evening defines tomorrow. Gotta love a weekend, even if I'm (sorta) retired.

Upcoming events to note- voting day on Tuesday, Oct 6 for Borough offices and the Literacy (ASLA) conference is Oct 17-18.
