I just returned from a math conference in San Diego. I have such a sad life that the drought ended while I was there and it rained for 4 days- unseasonably wet, they say. I met lots of fun people- shout out to my new best friends.
All the math teacher talk focused on the following topics: assessment, coaching, National Core Standards, and PLC (professional learning communities). I came back energized but glad I'm retired.
We broke out the bikes today and rode around, stopping for Italian sodas at a Sunrise Coffee stand. The temps went up to 60, I think and there is no snow on the ground except close to buildings on the north side.
We bought a new washer and dryer today- why in the world do I need 15 settings- I'll only use my favorite 2. Apparently the dryers don't need to be green energy rated since the new washers are so great that the clothes are already almost dry when they come out.
