After-Travel Let Down

I just read in the AARP magazine (this entry will explain) that sitting for 8 hours a day shortens your life- you are more likely to die within 14 years than those who sit 3 hours or less.  Well, today just shortened my life, I'm sure.

I have been gone from home from Sept 12- Oct. 16 with the exception of last Sunday and today.  As a result, I have been just lying around.  Call it jet-lag, call it lazy, call it whatever.  I'm too lethargic to fight you on it.  The mail is piled on the table, the clothes from my suitcase are strewn around, the phone and computer are within easy reach as I am wrapped in a blanket on the couch.  My access to the computer means that I have used the Stickies to write a substantial list of "to-dos" and maybe someday I'll get to them.

It's interesting that I'd rather visit and travel than almost anything.  But upon returning home, the rush has passed.  I live here because I love all the things to do in Fairbanks.  I will force myself up off the couch to go see "The Bear" at the Riverfront Theater, only because tonight is the last night.  I have a breakfast date tomorrow, but I don't think eating cinnamon rolls can count as a valid back home activity.

Blog, I've missed you.   Besides, I can reach you from the couch without getting up.
