Nighttime on the Tundra

Here I sit on the cushions again, facing another night in Bethel. I decided to go to Toksook Bay and Tununak instead of Atmautluak, just so I could meet with a few more teachers. I hitched a ride over to Grant Aviation, and it was quite peaceful over there. Henry Napolean (Hooper Bay) played his guitar and sang some wonderful songs to the pleasure of those of us waiting.

We ordered burgers from Brothers for lunch and went to Dimitri's for dinner with former mentor Barb. If it seems like we have been doing nothing but eating, remember that we also spent many long hours in the airport. They only released us at 5:00 by cancelling the flights.

I'm "wired" in more ways than one so I can check my emails and blog, which has become my favorite mode of communication. I'm planning my math course "Active Learning for Middle School Math"....oh, wait, maybe tomorrow.

Tomorrow, if you need me, you can call me at Grant Aviation where I will be counting ceiling tiles, meeting everyone, buying beverages from the Lunchbox and generally making the hours stretch out. Not flying is the better alternative than being unsafe, but I hope the fog lifts.
