Rebirth

Happy Equinox! We had a lovely ham and scalloped potato dinner today with friends. The house got cleaned, we went for a long walk and I packed for tomorrow's excursion to the coast.

This is a great time of year for a celebration, irrespective of religious celebrations. Even though its below zero every morning, by afternoon, it's double digits and the daylight is glorious. Right now the sun has just set and it's 8:45 pm.

One of my mentor friends had just been weathered into a remote island since Tuesday. Poor her. It's especially difficult because her bags didn't come with her....so she's had to borrow everything from pajamas to bedding. Fortunately, everyone is very sympathetic in most villages, so I'm sure she's been well taken care of.

It would be great to hear from my kids. I have joyous remembrances of Easter baskets and kids looking for hidden eggs. The bunny would hide an Easter basket for each child and they'd have to find it. Fortunately, the bunny also knew that older kids liked tickets to movies and other tangibles, not just candy. I have great pictures of them as babies- Erin with a bonnet and bunny ears and Ben with so much candy crammed in his mouth he couldn't even chew.

Pat, Great Blog...I stumbled upon it totally by a fluke after recognizing a picture from it that a Google search returned. If you don't mind I am going to pass its URL to my daughters, one which is studying to be a teacher and the other, planning to continue her education to include a teaching/counseling certificate.

I still maintain that you are the only woman I know who will answer a wrong number phone call at 4AM with a cheerful voice... :-)
