Cause I'm A Wanderer

Like my song title themes....can you tell I still fondly remember the 60s? Anyway, I decided to itemize the villages in Alaska with which I have had some familiarity. I have had a few emails from people hoping to come to teach in Alaska, and they may have some questions. I have to tell you that my love of Alaska makes it difficult for me to be critical, but I could tell some objective things.

These are the villages that I mentored teachers in during my 3 years: Nulato, Huslia, Allakaket, Anaktuvak Pass, Venetie, Chalkyitsik, Ft. Yukon, Kotzebue, Deering, Buckland, Atmautluak, Nunapitchuk, Toksook Bay, Tununak, Mekoryuk, Delta Junction, Tok, Copper Center, Fairbanks and North Pole. Additionally, I have become familiar with Bethel as it was a hub and haven for me in bad weather.

I have lived and/or taught in: Whale Pass, Tolsoi Bay, Meyers Chuck, LaBouchere Bay, Haines, Old Harbor, North Pole, Fairbanks, Juneau and Atmautluak.

I have visited, fished from, hiked near or taken students on field trips to Circle, Galena, Nenana, Healy, Seward, Kenai, Ninilchik, Wasilla, Coldfoot, Deadhorse, Skagway, Paxson, Valdez, Ketchikan, Elfin Cove, McGrath, Craig, Klukwan, Klawock, Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka, Ouzinkie, Kodiak, Hope, Glenallen and Cantwell.

Wow! I'm tired just thinking about it. The truth is, I am crazy about new things and change. I almost always would rather start something new than finish something already started. Except a beautiful trail.

Good night.
