Last Night along the River

Tonight is most likely my last night in Ft. Yukon if the weather stays good. It's snowing outside right now, big wet, warm flakes. It's a stark contrast to last night where it was cold and clear. The lights around the buildings made a distinct halo that ended about 20 feet out, followed by the inky abyss. The stars looked low and near. Tonight, nothing but white and black, white and black.
This lonely boat and outside reminded me that once you pay for something to be shipped out here (and everything must be), then it never leaves. Sometimes, goods are brought into Circle and barged, but that season is almost over and Everts Air Cargo is the only other alternative.

This is the Alaskan idea of a truck farm. This house was surrounded by about 50 trucks, cars and other vehicles. They made a "boulevard" type entrance to the house way down the road. I was reminded of Balboa in LA and the row of trees in Maui in a man-made sort of way.

This fox snare is only about 2 feet off the trail. I'm rooting for the fox.
