Customer Service

Paul went to a store yesterday to buy a figure 9 clasp for tying down our hammock hex rainflys. As he was leaving, he did the Alaskan pat-down- hat, zipped up, gloves and noticed that he'd dropped one. He glanced down next to the door and there was a dog with his glove in his mouth. Now that's customer service!

We spent the afternoon packing up food boxes for our Appalachian Trail hike. We're sending them off to Ron tomorrow. Hurray! Then we mail our packs to Georgia and begin the tedious scrub-out until we go. I remember as a child always mopping our way out of the lake cabin so that it was clean upon our return- same deal here.

I have one final trip next week to Hoonah- I'm really looking forward to it. With 2 weeks left to go before we leave, the waiting is difficult. Now that it is close, we both want to just go! We've made many lists, but we have a nagging feeling that we will forget something important.

The view of the hospital on beautiful cold day in Fairbanks, -31 and dropping. Note blue sky and no wind. Typical.
