I know my life is really too exciting, but I did manage to learn a few things at the dentist office yesterday.
*those tooth whitening strips that bleach your teeth also compromise the little microcanals in your teeth and weaken them- the 12 week whitener by Listerine works better.
* don't use anything bigger than a flossing threader to clean under your bridges- all the wider or thicker ones are too rough on your gum tissues.
* only use a soft toothbrush
I've been quite sedentary, but at least I'm eating salads! Bev and Erin came over for short visits yesterday followed by a picnic at Alaskaland (like Spatula World but farther north) with the 3 Moons Over the Chatanika gals. Later in the day, Sue and I picked raspberries. I'm gave them to her and plan to pick with enthusiasm later this week.
Today, I met a friend for 1/2 of a cinnamon roll at Lulu's. Yes, I rode my bike over. Then I watched some kids and made another salad for dinner. The rodents in the neighborhood have nothin' on me as far as munching greens. My brother joined me for that respite and a short, but vigorous discussion. I also washed windows and hauled away trash from a rental cabin. Does the excitement never end?
I received a contract in the mail for a new job with the state of Alaska. I'm a "Content Support Specialist" and, although the job description is quite long, I will mainly represent the state with districts to align and improve their secondary math instruction. Sounds fun, doesn't it? As a contractor, I had to get a business license and now I'm looking into indemnity insurance. I expect to be going out to requesting districts and sleeping on the floors again. Good thing I have not gotten used to a soft bed yet after hiking.
I'm on Facebook now and it is very interesting. I think there must be some people who are addicted and spend a good part of the day answering surveys and joining groups. I started one once, but it never ended so I just quit it. When you link, it asks for all your info too which is too invasive for me.
