Pat Erdown

The Slay Belles won handily over the Misfit Toys.

Busy day yesterday...we went swimming and did a mile. Then, I did a little tutoring- shoutout to Jordyn and Jamiee, fighting the battle of the numbers.

Bruis'er Booty handed out candy to the crowd. She also sings a good national anthem.

I bought a Bionicles Transformer and a Polly Pocket to donate at the FBXRG Home for the Holidays Bout at the Carlson Center. The Fairbanks Roller Girls really rocked. It was fun to watch and easier to follow than a hockey or football game. My favorite roller girl was Bruiser Booty. If I was younger, I'd be out there.

A ref with attitude.

Then we went to Barnes and Noble bookstore and sat by the fire. I found a book of tramps in New Zealand (hikes, not bums), so I'm all hooked on going there sometime soon. Maybe the kids will come with us? I guess a trail is good, a track is more difficult and a route is near impossible. Also, there are 10 "great tramps" which require much advance planning but the other tramps are beautiful and have huts and so on. The other good news is that our winter is their summer, so we can have it all.

Today, we walked up to the University on some business (finding out how to write a proposal for teaching a professional development course) and we checked out the museum store for Christmas gifts. We walked back via lower campus and saw the student art show.
A painting entitled "I hate Winter" by Zoe Keith- one of my favorites.

This afternoon, we did some last minute shopping and picked out cabinets for the new apartment we're (mostly Paul) building. Tonight is a quiet, book night. One of these days I'll have to do some cleaning around here. I did cook dinner though- scrambled eggs with shrimp, spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and onion with a slice of homemade Egg Bread slathered in (also homemade) raspberry jam. Can't be beat.

Happy 52nd birthday, sister Nancy.
