On Wednesday, Erin and I volunteered with Sue out at North Pole's Christmas on Ice. There were about 30 sculptures and a kid's sliding park right next to the Santa Claus House.
Erin and the Big Guy.
It was chilly (about -10) and surprised me how many people came from out of town to be in North Pole for Christmas Eve. We met a family who flew up for the day to visit Santa in NP (he's an Alaskan Airlines pilot) and another Australian couple who were really cold.
Happy and doing good, too. Sue and Erin collected money and stamped hands. I ran the food concessions at Christmas on Ice.
The Family Film Fest started on Tuesday night with the film Junebug. Last night, we went to Silver Gulch and came home to view Casablanca and Charade. Remember, the theme was films with one word names (no "the" or "a" either). Please vote on your favorite on the right sidebar. Leah, don't stack the votes- one vote per person.
Today, Ron and Erin went out to soak in Chena Hot Springs. Paul and I walked up to Fred Meyer for a cast iron fry pan and a few food items for Christmas Day. I put on my one pound down jacket covered by a raincoat and was plenty warm for the -5 temps. My legs were cold though- no long johns.
