Pre Holiday but Post Nasal

I'm laying around coughing and hacking with a sinus infection and post nasal drip. I can't even stand to write it, but it is a chronic health issue I have- my sinuses drain down the back of my throat causing me to cough, have an aching sore throat and laryngitis. Woe is me.

In spite of the pending malady, Paul and I managed to go swimming yesterday. We've worked up to 1 mile (36 double lengths doncha know) by swimming Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Mary Siah pool is warm water so the seniors flock over there for the 90 cent use, while we youngsters pay $3.75. I can hardly wait to qualify.

I hung out the icicle lights on the fence. Unfortunately, one of the three strings is green and red to the other multicolor ones. When I asked Paul which he liked better, he told me that the red and green all look alike to him. I made him name what they looked like and he said, "Maybe all green?". I just don't get that color blindness on a holistic level. It has been explained to me, but I just don't get it....we've been working on it for years.

The Chinook winds brought in warm (above 0) temps and winds, very unusual for this time of year. Too bad I feel too punk to take advantage of it. I don't even want to walk around outside- too puny.

I added a new "gadget" listing some of my philanthropic websites. I've been a lender on Kiva for a few years since Erin gifted me. Not only has the original $75 donation grown to $150 in just a few years, but I feel like loaning to women entrepreneurs improves their standard of living. The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world. That has the effect of promoting peace- people who live comfortably don't need to go out and fight. Wars are started when there is an angry population who have nothing to lose by dying. I'll be adding my favorite sites for peace...my criterion for donating- it must effect the quality of life for children (education, food and water supplies, health).
