Dropping a Load

First trip of the season- 28 degrees and overcast.

We couldn't wait to haul materials out to our "Elliott Estate" today. We put the 15 sheets of plywood flooring and the trailer on the back of the truck where it waited patiently while we had a quick bagel and coffee with Leah and John.

The road was still frozen so relatively easy compared to the usual quagmire. We dropped off the stuff and went back home for the 4-wheelers wondering if anyone in our neighborhood would use their Oklahoma credit card. Nope, everything was still there.

Tailgate party- eating out means PB&J and SunChips.

We could put 3 sheets of flooring on the trailer at a time. The first trip out, we had to stop and dig out a few times, so we unhooked the trailer and went all the way to the end. There were moose tracks and a snowmachine trail, but everything looked untouched. We went back and rehitched the trailer and went a little further. Finally, we just made a materials pile about 1/3 of the way back....going back 5 times until we'd moved everything.
Full load- 3 sheets of plywood and a shovel.

The dumping feature of the trailer wasn't our friend either. It chose to dump our sheeting three times. Arghhh.....we tied it down, finally.

Anyway, Gary and Paul will be going back out tomorrow with a snowmachine to go the rest of the way back to the cabin site.

I've taken a "lola ne marat" job (grandma money in Tagalog). I'll be temping at the school district office for the next 7 work days. Not tough work, probably a little boring, but the $$ will go to the little Crouchling due in Sept. I'll be answering phones (and probably disconnecting upon transfer) and doing some light filing and paperwork....I think I can do it. Besides, I think it will help me stay retired.
